Linux network command line / perintah jaringan di linux

pastikan paket bind-utils sudah terinstall..

perintah network ada bermacam-macam, anda bisa tahu cara menggunakan dan pilihannya dengan mengetik

perintah tersebut diantaranya : 
  • dig

dig (domain information groper) is a flexible tool for interrogating DNS name servers. It performs DNS lookups and displays the answers that are returned from the name server(s) that were queried. Most DNS administrators use dig to troubleshoot DNS problems because of its flexibility, ease of use and clarity of output. Other lookup tools tend to have less functionality than dig.

  Although dig is normally used with command-line arguments, it also has a batch mode of operation for reading lookup requests from a file. A brief summary of its command-line arguments and options is printed when the -h option is given. Unlike earlier versions, the BIND 9 implementation of dig allows multiple lookups to be issued from the command line.


Unless it is told to query a specific name server, dig will try each of the servers listed in /etc/resolv.conf.

  When no command line arguments or options are given, dig will perform an NS query for "." (the root).

  It is possible to set per-user defaults for dig via ${HOME}/.digrc. This file is read and any options in it are applied before the command line arguments.

  The IN and CH class names overlap with the IN and CH top level domains names. Either use the -t and -c options to specify the type and class, use the -q the specify the domain name, or use "IN." and "CH." when looking up these top level domains.
  • nslookup

Nslookup is a program to query Internet domain name servers. Nslookup has two modes: interactive and non-interactive. Interactive mode allows the user to query name servers for information about various hosts and domains or to print a list of hosts in a domain. Non-interactive mode is used to print just the name and requested information for a host or domain.
  • ping

ping uses the ICMP protocol's mandatory ECHO_REQUEST datagram to elicit an ICMP ECHO_RESPONSE from a host or gateway. ECHO_REQUEST datagrams (``pings'') have an IP and ICMP header, followed by a struct timeval and then an arbitrary number of ``pad'' bytes used to fill out the packet.

ping6 can also send Node Information Queries (RFC4620).
  • traceroute

tracks the route packets taken from an IP network on their way   to a given host. It utilizes the IP protocol's time to live (TTL) field   and attempts to elicit an ICMP TIME_EXCEEDED response from each gateway along the path to the host.

traceroute6 is equivalent to traceroute -6

  The only required parameter is the name or IP address of the destination host . The optional packet_len`gth is the total size of the probing packet (default 60 bytes for IPv4 and 80 for IPv6). The specified size can be ignored in some situations or increased up to a minimal value.

  This program attempts to trace the route an IP packet would follow to some   internet host by launching probe packets with a small ttl (time to live) then listening for an ICMP "time exceeded" reply from a gateway. We start our probes with a ttl of one and increase by one until we get an ICMP "port unreachable" (or TCP reset), which means we got to the "host", or   hit a max (which defaults to 30 hops). Three probes (by default) are sent at each ttl setting and a line is printed showing the ttl, address of the gateway and round trip time of each probe. The address can be followed by additional information when requested. If the probe answers come from difâ ferent gateways, the address of each responding system will be printed. If there is no response within a 5.0 seconds (default), an "*" (asterisk) is printed for that probe.

  After the trip time, some additional annotation can be printed: !H, !N, or !P (host, network or protocol unreachable), !S (source route failed), !F (fragmentation needed), !X (communication administratively prohibited), !V (host precedence violation), !C (precedence cutoff in effect), or !<num> (ICMP unreachable code <num>). If almost all the probes result in some kind of unreachable, traceroute will give up and exit. 

  We don't want the destination host to process the UDP probe packets, so the destination port is set to an unlikely value (you can change it with the -p flag). There is no such a problem for ICMP or TCP tracerouting (for TCP we use half-open technique, which prevents our probes to be seen by applications on the destination host).

In the modern network environment the traditional traceroute methods can not be always applicable, because of widespread use of firewalls. Such firewalls filter the "unlikely" UDP ports, or even ICMP echoes. To solve this, some additional tracerouting methods are implemented (including tcp), see LIST OF AVAILABLE METHODS below. Such methods try to use particular protocol and source/destination port, in order to bypass firewalls (to be seen by firewalls just as a start of allowed type of a network sesâsion).
  • host

host is a simple utility for performing DNS lookups. It is normally used to convert names to IP addresses and vice versa. When no arguments or options are given, host prints a short summary of its command line arguments and options.

  name is the domain name that is to be looked up. It can also be a dotted-decimal IPv4 address or a colon-delimited IPv6 address, in which case host will by default perform a reverse lookup for that address. server is an optional argument which is either the name or IP address of the name server that host should query instead of the server or servers listed in /etc/resolv.conf. 

  The -a (all) option is equivalent to setting the -v option and asking host to make a query of type ANY.

  When the -C option is used, host will attempt to display the SOA records for zone name from all the listed authoritative name servers for that zone. The list of name servers is defined by the NS records that are found for the zone.

  The -c option instructs to make a DNS query of class class. This can be used to lookup Hesiod or Chaosnet class resource records. The default class is IN (Internet).

  Verbose output is generated by host when the -d or -v option is used. The two options are equivalent. They have been provided for backwards compatibility. In previous versions, the -d option switched on debugging traces and -v enabled verbose output.

  List mode is selected by the -l option. This makes host perform a zone transfer for zone name. Transfer the zone printing out the NS, PTR and address records (A/AAAA). If combined with -a all records will be printed.

  The -i option specifies that reverse lookups of IPv6 addresses should use the IP6.INT domain as defined in RFC1886. The default is to use IP6.ARPA.

The -N option sets the number of dots that have to be in name for it to be considered absolute. The default value is that defined using the ndots statement in /etc/resolv.conf, or 1 if no ndots statement is present. Names with fewer dots are interpreted as relative names and will be searched for in the domains listed in the search or domain directive in
/etc/resolv.conf.

  The number of UDP retries for a lookup can be changed with the -R option. number indicates how many times host will repeat a query that does not get answered. The default number of retries is 1. If number is negative or zero, the number of retries will default to 1.

  Non-recursive queries can be made via the -r option. Setting this option clears the RD â recursion desired â bit in the query which host makes. This should mean that the name server receiving the query will not attempt to resolve name. The -r option enables host to mimic the behavior of a name server by making non-recursive queries and expecting to receive answers to those queries that are usually referrals to other name servers.

  By default, host uses UDP when making queries. The -T option makes it use a TCP connection when querying the name server. TCP will be automatically selected for queries that require it, such as zone transfer (AXFR)
requests.

  The -4 option forces host to only use IPv4 query transport. The -6 option forces host to only use IPv6 query transport.

The -t option is used to select the query type. type can be any recognized query type: CNAME, NS, SOA, SIG, KEY, AXFR, etc. When no query type is specified, host automatically selects an appropriate query type.  By default, it looks for A, AAAA, and MX records, but if the -C option was given, queries will be made for SOA records, and if name is a dotted-decimal IPv4 address or colon-delimited IPv6 address, host will query for PTR records. If a query type of IXFR is chosen the starting serial number can be specified by appending an equal followed by the starting serial number (e.g. -t IXFR=12345678).

  The time to wait for a reply can be controlled through the -W and -w options. The -W option makes host wait for wait seconds. If wait is less than one, the wait interval is set to one second. When the -w option is used, host will effectively wait forever for a reply. The time to wait for a response will be set to the number of seconds given by the hardware's maximum value for an integer quantity.

  The -s option tells host not to send the query to the next nameserver if any server responds with a SERVFAIL response, which is the reverse of normal stub resolver behavior.

  The -m can be used to set the memory usage debugging flags record, usage and trace.

Distro linux yang kompatibel dengan SiS 771/671

Uhh, siapa yang ga tahu betapa sulitnya mencari distribusi linux yang menyediakan built-in driver untuk sis 771/671.. Gonta ganti distro linux dari ubuntu, fedora, arch, opensuse, mageia udah pernah saya rasakan demi mendapatkan tampilan yag sesuai dan tidak berat..Pilihan cuma ada dua

  1. pilih distro linux yang compatible/kompatibel dengan sis 771/671
  2. kompile/compile/buat sendiri driver-nya

tentu saja prinsip yang paling benar adalah memilih distro yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan kita, dalam hal ini termasuk hardware compatibility..

berikut daftar distro linux yang menyediakan driver built-in untuk sis 771/671 dalam paketnya

  2. Archlinux
  3. Mandriva
distro (beserta turunannya) menyediakan driver built-in untuk sis 771/671 yang dikemas dengan nama sisimedia

tentu saja sebenarnya semua distro bisa mendapatkan driver ini diluar dari paket distro diatas (compile sendiri), tapi.. seperti yang bapak Linus torvald katakan, untuk apa memilih distro yang nantinya bakal ngerepotin kita sementara diluar sana ada distro lain yang akan lebih memudahkan kita dalam melakukan apapun..

lagipula untuk compile sendiri driver sis 771/671 ini, kita juga harus menyediakan packages development dan belum tentu bisa jalan jika xorg diupdate ke versi terbaru, dengan kata lain kompile setiap update xorg

kasian kan untuk yang koneksinya mobile broadband, :(

sebelum melanjutkan instruksi, ada baiknya anda memilih distro yang menyediakan driver buit-in untuk sis 771/671 ini
well, pastikan bahwa vga anda tipe 771/671,jalankan perintah :
lspci|grep VGA
jika hasilnya
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 771/671 PCIE VGA Display Adapter (rev 10)
maka anda di jalur yang benar :D

selanjutnya adalah install paket-paket ini
